O livrinho dos Contos do Porto / The booklet of Porto tales
Neste livrinho recolhemos meia dúzia de contos populares do Porto
que nunca tiveram a honra de serem apresentados desta forma.
E para melhor entretenimento podemos: ou olhar um velho mapa
da cidade ou percorrer as ruas, quase todas ainda no mesmo sítio!
Metida entre as muralhas, estas construídas no tempo do rei Fernando,
imaginámos a localização do que contamos.
Daí que um passeio pela cidade, como disse, pelas suas ruas mais antigas,
mais precisamente pelo seu centro histórico, vai permitir-nos dar largas à imaginação.
In this little book we collected half a dozen popular stories from Porto
that never had the honor of being presented in this way.
And for better entertainment we can either look at an old map
of the city or walk the streets, almost all still in the same place!
Tucked between the walls, these were built in the time of King Fernando,
we imagined the location of what we count. Hence a tour of the city,
as I said, through its oldest streets, more precisely through its historic center,
will allow us to give vent to the imagination.
